Also though most of the plans do not say, I would think that you want tuna that is packed in water not oil as water will be less fat. Also you are allowed to drink coffee, tea and water. You may want to consider green tea as it is said to have detoxifying properties. As for the produce on the list, I am not sure that you need to go organic but I would definitely not get canned as it as usually higher in sodium and fresh taste better anyway in my opinion.

Fruits and Vegetables

Beets

Green Beans

Broccoli

Cauliflower

Carrots

Banana

Apple

Cantaloupe

Meat

Tuna

Hot Dogs

Chicken (lean)

Dairy

Cheddar Cheese

Low Fat Ice Cream

Eggs

Crackers, Peanut Butter & Whole Wheat Bread

Make sure you have lots of good filtered or quality bottled water as you should drink around 8 glasses per day according to the plan . Coffee should be black and tea plain as well.

After writing about the 3 day tuna fish diet I decided to give it a try. After all it wasn’t that hard, I didn’t really know if it would help but I only had about 10 pounds that I wanted to lose….so nothing ventured nothing gained I figured. I’m not gonna review the whole diet, you can see it at the link if you want.

For those who have never heard of the diet, basically its a simple 3 day diet of tuna fish, beets, veggies, crackers, eggs, chicken and hot dogs. Although there are many slight variations of this diet online and in print, the common factor is that tuna fish is consumed everyday. The diet is not hard to follow and is inexpensive.

The first day on the 3 day tuna fish diet was easy for me since I do eat a lot of tuna it hardly seemed like dieting at all. The second day I did feel a little hungry and felt I had skipped a meal or was missing somethnig. By day 3 I was hungry and very sick on tuna, looking forward to a real meal.

3 Day Tuna Fish Diet Result

I checked my weight on the morning of day for the same time I had checked it on day one. As I stepped on the scale with my stomach rumbling I expected to be rewarded for my efforts. I had lost 2.5 pounds, hardly the 10 pounds I was looking for. Its pretty much the same amount I would of lost just restricting my diet for 3 days. That is probably the same as I would of lost if I had just restricted my diet a little over the 3 day period. Its not hard to stick to but just normal healthy choices will probably give you a similar result over a slightly longer time. I have had better results on the Dean Ornish Diet, but its very hard for me to stick with it
